Kolkata, July 9 (IBNS): West Bengal Public Health Engineering and Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee unveiled the music album launch of upcoming Bengali movie “Palatak” at The International Club in Kolkata on Sunday.
“The word Palatak is very familiar to us. It’s good that a movie on topic like this have been made,” said Mukherjee.
“I always wish that more and more Bengali movies are made because in this way our culture would be explored,” he added.
The movie is the adaptation of Late Nabendu Ghosh’s story ‘Aguner Ukti’.
The movie aims to convey the message of relation between parents and their children. It says that today parents are too busy with their own life that they don’t have time for their children and this can have a bad impact on their upbringing.
Nehal, who has directed the movie, said: “The movie also highlights caste problems that are still prevalent in our society. It’s a protest against all such issues.”
The background score has been done by Pt. Tanmoy Bose and music composed by Sajal Mukherjee.
The cast of the film include Soumitra Chottopadhyay, Firdous, Biswajit Chakraborty, Romen Roy Choudhury, Shankar Chakraborty, Soma Dey and Papiya Debrajan.
