Air Arabia takes off to Goa in April

Kolkata, March 14: Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, announced that it will launch service to Goa beginning April 16.

Roundtrip flights will operate three times per week between Dabolim International Airport in Goa and Air Arabia’s hub in Sharjah. Upon commencing service, Air Arabia will be the only UAE-based international carrier to offer direct flights to Goa from the UAE.

The LCC will fly to Goa on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Sharjah at 00:25 AM and arriving at Goa at 05:05 AM. Return flights will depart Goa at 05:50 AM and arrive in Sharjah at 07:35 AM.

Air Arabia’s first destination in the Indian state of Goa is also the carrier’s 13th destination in India. In total, Air Arabia will serve 46 destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia and the Southern Europe, including Athens. Greece, when service commences on April 21, 2009.

“Famous for its sun-kissed sandy beaches and natural beauty, Goa is India’s premier tourist destination. With a high tourist inflow in to Goa, the route promises to be of great potential for Air Arabia, especially since there are few direct flights from the UAE. We are confident that Air Arabia’s non-stop flights to Goa will further enhance its popularity among travellers based in the region,” said AK Nizar, Head of Commercial Department, Air Arabia.

Located on the west coast of India, Goa is globally renowned for its beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture. Goa is visited by hundreds of thousands of international and domestic tourists each year. With a share of nearly 12 per cent of all tourist arrivals in India, tourism is the largest contributor to the Goan economy.

Air Arabia offers visitors from Goa to the UAE, with a convenient tourist visa service to visit their family and friends.
