‘Wellness market growing at 35%’

New Delhi, July 14 (IBNS) The wellness market in India is growing at a rate of 35%, said a top official.
VLCC Institute of Beauty & Nutrition, one of Asia’s largest beauty and nutrition vocational training academies, recently held its 6th Annual convocation at Epicenter, Gurgaon, coinciding with the VLCC Group’s Founder’s Day celebrations.
Speaking at the occasion, Narinder Kumar, Head - Education Business & Group CFO said, “The Wellness market is estimated to be around Rs.11,000 crores and is growing at the rate of 35%, leading to a high demand supply gap of health and beauty professionals in this segment.”
The chief guests at the occasion were Sanjay Mehta, Independent Member of the Board of Directors, VLCC Health Care Limited and Vandana Luthra, Founder & Mentor, VLCC.
On the occasion the passing out students had put together a style show “Celebrating Style… In Style!” to showcase their talent in make up and hair styling.
Vandana Luthra said, “Vocational education is the need of the hour. It makes individuals ‘self-reliant and empowered’. I am proud to see so many young professionals entering the beauty Industry thus filling in a huge need gap, given that in the last 3 years this industry has entered a high growth phase and shall continue to do so for the foreseeable future.”
This year’s convocation is a landmark for the VLCC Institute with the passing out of its first batch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Cosmetology (PGDC) students.
