New Delhi, Aug 21 (IBNS) The annual consumer price inflation based on all India general Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July on point to point basis slightly eased down to 9.86%, according to government data released on Tuesday.
The corresponding inflation rates for rural and urban areas are 9.76% and 10.10%, it said.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation Srikant Kumar Jena announced the release of the monthly provisional Consumer Price Index (CPI) on Base 2010=100 along with annual inflation rates for July 2012, compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
All India provisional General (all groups) CPI numbers of July 2012 for rural, urban and combined are 122.6, 119.9 and 121.4 respectively.
Provisional annual inflation rate based on all India general CPI (Combined) for July 2012 on point to point basis (July 2012 over July 2011) is 9.86%.
The corresponding inflation rates for rural and urban areas are 9.76% and 10.10%. Inflation rates (final) for rural, urban and combined for June 2012 are 9.65%, 10.44% and 9.93% respectively.
Provisional annual inflation rates of July 2012 for rural, urban and combined in respect of ‘food and beverages’ are 11.33%, 12.15% and 11.53% respectively.
