BSE Sensex dips on outlook
India Blooms News Service
Mumbai, Aug 29 (IBNS): The BSE Sensex fell 0.80 percent on Wednesday as gloom over India’s economic outlook weighed down blue chips.
The 30-share benchmark index ended 140.90 points lower at 17490.81 with 18 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.88 percent or 46.80 points lower at 5287.80 on Wednesday.
Even though Indian markets were up for the month, the fourth-straight on Thursday fall marked their longest losing streak since mid-July.
