'Buddha wants to quit Left' India Blooms News Service
Kolkata, May 18 (IBNS) West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has expressed his desire to resign from his post, after the CPI-M-led ruling Left Front suffered a huge setback in the 15th Lok Sabha polls, said party sources.
As per media reports, the indication has been made even clearer after Bhattacharjee refused to attend the CPI-M politburo meeting in New Delhi Monday.
However, Left Front top brass dismissed the probability altogether.
“Bhattacharjee has not talked to any of us regarding his resignation,” said Left Front chairman Biman Bose told reporters before leaving for Delhi.
Asked about Bhattacharjee’s decision not to attend the meetimg, Bose said Bhattacharjee decided to stay back in Kolkata in view of post-poll clashes between political parties in different parts of the state.
