Guwahati, July 5 (IBNS): Seven meritorious students of Assam will visit National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during a 10 days educational tour programme in October in this year, officials said.
Among the selected students for the tour, are the top three of this year's High School Leaving Certificate examination and topper of High Madrasa examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA).
“We have introduced a programme for the meritorious students of high school level for the memory of late Debo Kumar Bora from this year,” Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
“The students and a government official will fly from Bangalore to Washington on October 21,” he said.
During the study tour, students will take participate in a space camp, which has been sponsored by the U.S. state of Alabama.
“The students will be trained in the camp like an astronaut,” the Assam Minister said.
The team will also visit Kennedy Space Centre in Orlando, Florida.
