Fashion show for Incredible Kolkata

Kolkata, July 24 (IBNS) Incredible Kolkata, a knowledge forum of top manufacturers, designers and retailers of fine jewellery from Kolkata, on Monday opened its second edition of the annual conclave with its buyer–seller meet followed by a grand jewellery fashion showcase reflecting the excellence of jewellery craftsmanship in Bengal.
Held at the modern Swissotel, Rajarhat, the city of joy witnessed an evening of fusion of fashion and jewellery.
Culturally steeped Bengal is also known for its rich history of hand-crafted jewellery.
Incredible Kolkata portraysed the beauty and sensibilities of one of the traditional forms of Indian jewellery.
As a part of the conclave, a fashion show displaying creativity in jewellery witnessed twelve different sequences.
The first sequence of the show commenced with a unique sequence representing the valor and strength of mother Durga.
Models attired in traditional Bengali white and red sarees donning traditional jewellery walked the ramp celebrating the power of the goddess.
In the following sequences the models then sashayed down the runway in stunning cocktail wear with contemporary pieces from the design houses.
Walking the ramp were top city models Madhabilata, Sonika, Suchira, Moitree, Sanjita, Madhura and the likes.
The fashion show was choreographed by model-turned artist Pinky Kenworthy.
The runway sparkled with subtle exhibition of matchless craftsmanship and elegance in jewellery from the following participating jewellery houses: Indian Gem & Jewellery Imperial; Mahabir Dhanwar Jewellers Pvt. Ltd; Jyoti Jewellers; Palsani Jewellers Pvt. Ltd; Diwansons Jewellers; Maya Gold; Sawansukha Jewellers and Indian Gem & Jewellery Creation.
Each houses showcased assortment of designer jewellery ranging from traditional designs to contemporary styles with intricate pattern studded with diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones to suit the taste of women across ages.
Eyeing the upcoming wedding season the jewelers also displayed some magnificent designs in gold with delicate work of meena -Kari and naksi work, diamond jewellery and kundan- jadau with an antique finesse.
