Leading fashion designers of the country Nil of Dev r Nil, city model Sanyukta, fashion photographer Indranil Mukherjee along with Yudhajit Dutta, MD, Mindscapes Maestros and Ranadeb Paul, Director, Mindscapes Group, were the Judges for the Model Hunt.
Nearly 70 new as well as established city models took part in the Model Hunt arranged for the second season of Kolkata Fashion Week. The ramp blazed with oodles of attitude. There were two rounds in the selection process. In the first round, all the men and women were asked to walk the ramp, out of which 17 men and 15 women were short listed for the second round.
Amongst the participants, finally 11 male models and 11 female models got selected to participate at the nation’s much awaited fashion extravaganza – the Kolkata Fashion Week.
The selected models are Neeraj Surana, Anando Ghosh, Tariq Dar, Kushal Trivedi, Arnav Singh, Nishant Malkani, Shashank Arora, Joheb Ahmed, Shamaun Ahmed, Pratapaditya Lahiri, Mainak Banerjea, Madhabilata Mitra, Jessica Gomes, Tulip Bhattacharya, Samantha Passah, Trishita Chakraborty, Deepshikha Rao, Nisha Sharma, Sneha Upadhyay, Priti Jana, Suchira Chattopadhyay & Ushoshi Sengupta.
“We are overwhelmed with the response that we have received for the Model Hunt. Short listing was difficult, but we are happy to get the perfect models, who would be a part of our show. Last season, only 4 Kolkata models could walk the ramp, but this time 22 city models will be participating. These models will be groomed by Elite Model Management India Private Limited for a period of 4 days prior to the commencement of KFW II”, said Yudhajit Dutta, MD, Mindscapes Maestros.
Figure, height, walk, attitude, look and poise were some of the key deciding factors of the judgment process. It was also important to have a photogenic face which compliment the designer clothing “We have decided to give chance to more Kolkata models for the second season of Kolkata Fashion Week. This Model Hunt has created a platform for all the aspirants to showcase their talent and gain confidence.” said Ranadeb Paul, Director, Mindscapes Group.
Conceptualized and designed by Mindscapes Maestros Events & Sports Management Private Limited, a part of Mindscapes Group Of Companies, Kolkata Fashion Week (KFW) Season II will be a five – day fashion extravaganza focusing on the theme ‘Earth Couture’ as the year 2009 has been declared as “The International Year of Natural Fibre” by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation. KFW II will be held between September 9-13 at ITC The Sonar Kolkata.
Ritu Kumar, Wendell Rodricks, Rocky S, Bibi Russel, Narendra Kumar, MonaPali, Dev R Nil, Zubair Kirmani, Kallol Dutta, Abhishek Dutta, Satya Paul, Mandira Wirk, Soumitra Mondal, Manish Malhotra & Anita Dongre have already confirmed participation at the year’s most eagerly awaited fashion event. Top models of the country including Indrani Dasgupta, Sapna Kumar, Joey Matthews, Lakshmi Rana, Noyanika, Sonalika Sahai, Neha Kapur, Bhawana, Candice Pinto along with others will be sashaying down the ramp showcasing the unique creations of these designers.
