Suicide car bomb kills 12 in Kabul

Kabul, May 18 (IBNS): At least 12 persons were killed and 47 others injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into some US military cars in Kabul on Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior said, Afghan news agency Pan reported.
The bomber detonated in western Kabul during the busy rush hour, close to an army recruitment centre and a hospital.
The Afghan interior ministry reportedly said NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was the target.
"We have five bodies brought to our hospital so far the number of the dead is at least 40, all civilians. The death toll is very high," a hospital personnel said, Geo News reported.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for this attack.
"We claim responsibility. The attack, which was a suicide car bomb, was carried out by one of our mujahedeen (\holy warriors)," Zabihullah Mujahed, a Taliban spokesman told AFP news agency.
