Kochhar's ‘Salaam Mademoiselle’

Mumbai, Jan 4 (IBNS) Couturierre Archana Kochhar has launched her Spring 2010 collection- Salaam Mademoiselle-which she describes as a ‘visual fantasy born of rococo murals’.
“Salaam Mademoiselle is lyrical presentation of bygone French opulence and rich Indian heritage,” said the designer.
The pastel oriented collection is whipped out of soft creams and laguna green.
The collection is embellished lavishly with 3D embroideries bordering Digital paintings of romantic cupids.
“The silhouette pays homage to modern Indianized Garments which has soul of our enriched silhouettes with European panache. From Indo-Western salwar suits to gown like lehengas and light net sarees teamed with bejeweled blouses makes this collection a must have for modern day Marie Antoinette from Varanasi to Venice,” said Kochhar.
Kochhar, who is known for knitting flamboyance and finesse in all her collection, is one of the favorites amongst Bollywood glitterati including Katrina, Neha Dhupia, Mahima and Sameera Reddy.
For her collections, she draws inspiration from the 18th century Indian regalia, Victorian costume and architecture to ancient heirlooms and heritages of the bygone period.
At present the designer has three stores in fashion Mecca Mumbai. |
