Kolkata, June 20 (IBNS): The Donut Baker, a franchisee of international restaurant developer Global Franchise Architects (GFA), on Tuesday unveiled its store at Park Street in Kolkata.
This is the first time that donuts are being introduced to the Eastern India, said the company.
To mark the occasion, a special ‘kids day out’ was organized.
Twelve children from the NGO Smile Foundation were the 'star attractions' of the day and participated in “decorate your own donut” contest.
The store is offering 35 varieties of donuts ranging from specialty donuts, ring donuts, tart donuts, filled donuts, chocolate docakes and twist/ dowbar/ bowtie.
“The items are hygienic and come at lower prices. I don’t think you will get tasty and hygienic food at such a lower price anywhere,” said a spokesperson of Donut Baker.
“Our targeted customers are kids and anybody who loves to gorge on such foods,” he said.
He said the store is planning to launch home delivery system soon.
Joseph Cherian, CEO, GFA Global said: "Our franchise partners in Kolkata have been running Pizza Corner, Cream & Fudge and Coffee World in Kolkata successfully for over two years now, and they are very excited to now bring Donut Baker to the city and region.”
