Shiney is innocent, reiterates wife

Mumbai, June 17 (IBNS) Anupam Ahuja, wife of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, today came in strong defence of her husband accused of raping their maid, saying the actor is innocent and she would prove that in the court of law.
βHe is innocent. Police is doing its duty but there is only one universal truth and that would be proved in the court,β she told Times Now TV.
Claiming that the entire incident is a frame-up, she said only the truth can be established in the court.
βI am reading different versions in different paper. But there is only one truth,β she said when asked that medical reports proved the act.
Ahuja, 36, faces a prison sentence of at least seven years if found guilty of rape, criminal intimidation and wrongful confinement charges.
On Sunday, a maid working at Ahuja's house accused the actor of raping her. Ahuja was questioned by police the same night and arrested on Monday. |
