The student community, which comprised his strongest support base, pelted stones on Munna Bhai when he went to meet some professors in the Lucknow University, reported CNN-IBN.

The students from the university's hostels gathered there and asked to see him personally. On being refused, they pelted stones at his cadres.

Police force reached on the spot and took away the students. No one, however, was injured in the incident, police said. Dutt was campaigning in Lucknow for the last three days.

The Supreme Court is expected to give its verdict on Monday whether he would be allowed to contest the elections.
