Munindra Saikia, a journalist by profession, has filed a petition of public interest litigation before the Guwahati High Court vide no PIL-85 of 2009 and asked for a direction for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry with regard to the rampant corruption in the irrigation department in Nagaon district. He also lodged an FIR against bureaucrats, officials and contractors, including Hussain.
Nagaon district SP Nitul Gogoi told IBNS, “After filling the FIR, a case (no-917/2010) was registered.”
“Nagaon police seized various official documents from the irrigation department and inquiry is going on,” he added.
It is to be mentioned that, Assam Forest minister Rockybul Hussain and six other cabinet minister of state government allegedly for involved in the Rs 1000 crore NCHAC scam.
