Pearson announces scholarships for law students

Mumbai, June 23 (IBNS) Pearson, a leading education services company, announced the award of scholarships to 23 law students based on performances in the recently concluded LSAT—India exams.
The LSAT—India, developed for law schools in India, is a special version of the renowned LSAT (Law School Admission Test) conducted globally by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).
Pearson unveiled the scholarships, alongside a waiving of fees for students sitting for the LSAT—India exams, to promote law as a career in India, with decisions based on candidates’ performance in the LSAT—India.
The exam results have been published on the LSAT—India website. Candidates will be able to check their results by entering their registration number and password provided at the time of registration.
All students applying for a Bar Council of India (BCI) accredited five-year B.A. LL.B. program and for any three-year LL.B./L.L.M. program within India who sat for the LSAT—India conducted in May this year, were eligible for the scholarships.
A total of 20 scholarships will be awarded to candidates applying for the five-year law program and 3 for the three-year law programs. Pearson will also waive test fees for the top 80 candidates who sat for the LSAT—India.
Commenting on the announcement of the results and scholarships, Khozem Merchant, President, Pearson India, said: “I would like to congratulate the winners of the Pearson Law Scholarships. These students have worked hard and I wish them all the very best in their pursuit of a legal education and career.”
Candidates from Delhi dominated the scholarships, closely followed by Kochi and Kolkata. The largest number of fee exemptions also went to students from Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore. They will be notified via e-mail by next week.
