CBI arrests ministry official for corruption

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested R.K. Jain, Director (Anti-Dumping) in Union Ministry of Commerce and Industries and has registered three regular cases against him, said an official statement on Tuesday.
He has been booked along with officials of three private companies, under various Sections of PC Act 1988 and IPC.
Jain belongs to Indian Costs and Accounts Service.
Searches were conducted at 15 locations in Delhi, Noida, Mumbai and Jharkhand which include the residential and official premises of accused persons and companies.
The searches yielded incrementing documents, cash of 7.25 lakhs, documents relating to several bank accounts, bank lockers and documents relating to investments in real-estate etc.
A laptop has also been seized. The Director (Anti-Dumping) was arrested on Monday and is being produced on Tuesday before the competent court.
