Panaji, Aug 3 (IBNS) The Goa government has decided to re-open the sensational Nadia Torrado suicide case which had resulted in the arrest of former tourism minister Mickky Pacheco for abetment to suicide and losing his portfolio.
Responding to a question in the ongoing state legislative assembly, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said the case has ‘political colour’ and hence it should be re-investigated.
Nadia, 28, had consumed ratol poison paste on May 15, 2010 and died a fortnight later on May 30, 2012 after being treated at various hospitals in Goa, Thane and Chennai.
Pacheco had made special arrangement to fly the patient from Goa to outstation hospitals in chartered ambulance. He was however held responsible for her death. Similarly, Nadia’s mother Sonia was also arrested on the same charge.
