Panaji, July 4 (IBNS): Goa youths under the age of 21 years will not be allowed to enter the casinos in the state as the Manohar Parrikar-government is set to introduce a Bill in this regard in the next session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

Addressing reporters after cabinet meeting Wednesday evening, chief minister Parrikar said that an appropriate legislation will also be proposed to ensure that Goans are restrained from entering the casinos.

“Goan youths below the age of 21 years and all locals will not be allowed to enter casinos. A proper legislation will be placed before the next session of the assembly,” he said.

The session will also discuss to regulate casinos – both onshore and offshore, and the fee structure.

In the recent budget announcement, Parrikar had reduced entry to onshore offshore casinos from Rs 2000 to Rs 500, and increased the annual off shore casino license fees to Rs 6.5 crore from Rs 5 crores to bring additional revenue of Rs 9 crores.
