Panaji, Aug 7 (IBNS) Goa legislator Mickky Pacheco has demanded the arrest of two senior police officers for ignoring intelligence inputs on the mastermind of 13/7 Mumbai blasts Yasin Bhatkal’s presence in Goa.
Pacheco, representing the Nuvem constituency told the ongoing state legislative assembly that former Crime Branch superintendent of police Mangaldas Desai and deputy superintendent of police Chandrakant Salgaonkar should be booked under the National Security Act.
“The two officers should be arrested for ignored intelligence inputs about Bhatkal… There could have been terror and bloodshed in Goa,” he said.
The legislator also pointed out that some youths from Vasco, who reportedly accompanied Bhatkal to other places have been missing.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar assured the House that an inquiry will be constituted to trace the whereabouts of the youths.
The terrorist, also wanted in the Pune German bakery blasts, had recced Goa lately.
