Guwahati, July 10 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended seven hardcore militants of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) and a cadre of anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in Assam on Tuesday, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, security forces nabbed seven NDFB militants in Udalguri district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition.
“A joint team of army and police had launched a search operation at Bhutiachang area under Paneri police station in the district along the India-Bhutan border on the wee hours of Tuesday and arrested the militants,” a senior police official said.
Security forces recovered nine hand grenade, two assault rifles and ammunition from their possession.
In a separate incident, the police arrested an ULFA militant during a search operation at Tutulapara area in Baska district.
The nabbed militant was identified as Dhanjit Rabha and the police recovered one 9mm pistol with two magazines and ammunition from his possession.
