Lucknow, July 14 (IBNS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that farmers should not be forced to vacate their land for development projects without adequate compensation.
“Land acquisition should be done with the consent of the farmers by giving them adequate compensation and if required after adjusting the affected family in job,” he was quoted as saying.
Yadav said that the state government is planning to construct a road to connect Lucknow with Delhi, but land for the the project will only be acquired after the consent from the affected farmers.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) leader has also said there was a need to work with full sincerity in the areas of health and education of the state.
"UP is a big state and going by its large population, people are not fully vigilant towards health and education, therefore there is a need to work with full sincerity in both these areas," he said.
