Kolkata, Aug 20 (IBNS): A class eight student was allegedly ragged by his seniors and attacked with blades and sticks in West Bengal's West Midnapore district on Thursday, reports said on Monday.
Tirthadip Mal, who was tortured by seniors, is a student of Salboni High School.
According to reports, five students tortured Mal in the Salboni High School hostel and attacked him with blades and sticks.
The victim was allegedly attacked for protesting against his seniors.
Mal said the seniors warned him that he would be thrown on railway tracks if he complained about the incident to the headmaster.
The victim told his parents about the incident after he managed to escape from the hostel.
Mal's parents lodged an First Information Report (FIR) with the police.
The five attackers have been rusticated from the school.
