Denied ticket, BJP MP boycotts campaign
India Blooms News Service
Panaji, Jan 26 (IBNS) North Goa BJP MP Shripad Naik seems quite upset after being denied party ticket for contesting Goa assembly elections on March 3.
Naik has decided not to campaign for his party unless the party chief explains him why he was disallowed to re-enter state politics.
“I need a satisfactory explanation from the party, the reason why I am denied to contest the State assembly elections. I will not campaign for any party candidate unless I get an explanation,” Naik demanded.
Naik, three-time Lok Sabha MP from North Goa, was a strong contender for the new Porvorim seat, incidentally a part of his parliamentary constituency.
The discussions on his re-entry to Goa politics had not gone down well with many senior leaders within the party as he could have been a strong contender to his senior leader Manohar Parrikar for the chief minister’s candidate.
