Kolkata, June 30 (IBNS) The National Medical College Hospital in Kolkata witnessed a blast on Saturday morning injuring one and spreading panic across the hospital.
The blast at around 8 am injured a sweeper of the hospital identified as Amit. He has sustained several splinter injuries.
The explosive was in a plastic container and it went off in the outdoor emergency ward.
Fire brigade engines and bomb squad rushed to the hospital.
The outdoor was closed for hours but it was later opened.
West Bengal Minister of State for Health Chandrima Bhattacharya said there was no need to panic and all action is being taken.
She confirmed it as a blast from a crude bomb kept inside.
