New Delhi, Mar 9 (IBNS) The Delhi High Court rejected a plea by godman Shiv Murat Dwivedi, who requested that his case should be transferred to the Delhi Police crime branch.
In his plea, Dwivedi said that he has been falsely implicated and that the investigation should be led by an officer of the rank of joint commissioner.
“An inquiry should be conducted for illegally arresting the petitioner and for staying the investigation till further order. Independent inquiry by the crime branch would be able to reveal the truth.” He demanded that he should be released from police custody,” he said in his plea.
Justice S L Bhayana dismissed Dwivedi’s plea, seeing no merit in it.
Saket police said that Shiv Murat was also taken to two of his hideouts in the city, R K Puram and Safdarjung.
Saket police said that Shiv Murat used to trap women with a proper plan. South Delhi police also said that they are trying to find out how many girls were trapped and pushed into prostution.
“He and his aides used to target girls, who were alone and stayed as PG. They would lure the girls with gifts and slowly she would get trapped in the circle. We would like each of his victims to come forward and lodge a case against him,’’ said DCP (south) H G S Dhaliwal.
