India Blooms News Service
Patna, Mar 15 (IBNS) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday threatened that the UPA government will have to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill over his ‘dead body’.
"The Women's Reservation Bill will be passed over my dead body,” said Lalu at a rally here.
“In the Rajya Sabha, the government may have used the military to break dissent, but in the Lok Sabha, I will pull down the government if they try to push the Bill through," he added.
Lalu reiterated that the Bill has to include reservations for minorities, Other Backward Class (OBC) and women under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).
"We want that the Bill should facilitate reservation for minorities, NREGA workers and other backward class women who deserve justice.”
“No matter how much resistance I face, I will take this battle to its a logical conclusion," the RJD supremo added.
