Islamabad, June 12 (IBNS): The judicial commission investigating the Memogate scandal has found former Pakistan ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani guilty of the crime, reports said on Tuesday.
The commission on Monday submitted a report on the matter in the Pakistan Supreme Court.
A nine-member bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday started examining the report of the commission.
The apex court on Tuesday adjourned the matter for two weeks and ordered Haqqani to appear before it during the next hearing.
The reports mentioned that Haqqani was not loyal towards his nation, Pakistani media reports said.
It said the memo was real and it was written by Haqqani.
The Memogate scandal deals with a secret memo to Washington that claimed that Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari feared that the nation might face a military coup has created a deep trouble in the South Asian nation.
Pakistani businessman Mansoor Ijaz had claimed that Zardari feared a military takeover of Pakistan after US killed terrorist Osama Bin Laden in May last year in Pakistan.
Haqqani resigned from his position after getting himself involved in a row over his alleged request for help to USA on behalf of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari to prevent a military coup following the killing of terrorist Osama bin Laden.
