New Delhi, July 24 (IBNS) Indian external affairs minister S M Krishna would visit Pakistan in September between 7 and 9, an official spokesperson said here on Tuesday.
"As you are aware, the External Affairs Minister has mentioned himself that he had suggested 7th, 8th, 9th of September as the dates, and my understanding is that these stand confirmed," said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin.
India and Pakistan foreign minister level were postponed apparently owing to Presidential polls in India and a new date in August wsa being considered earlier.
However, now it was confirmed that Krishna would visit Pakistan in September.
Pakistan wanted the talks to be held on July 19, but that was the date of the Presidential polls and so the Indian side had sought postponement.
The MEA official said earlier that the postponing of talks is not related to the recent arrest of the key suspect and Pakistan based India-born handler in the 26/11 attack of Mumbai.
