New Delhi, July 7 (IBNS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has nominated cricketer Yuvraj Singh for the Arjuna Award.
The date for filing the nomination for the Arjuna Award was extended till July 20 after the BCCI failed to nominate a name by April 30 deadline.
"It's an honour that BCCI has nominated my name for the Arjuna Award," Singh told reporters during an event on Saturday.
"This is the second time that my name has been nominated and I hope that I am lucky enough to get it," he said.
Singh said he is hopeful to play for the Indian team during the upcoming T20 World Cup.
"My target is to comeback in the T20 World Cup," Singh said. "I am really working hard."
Singh, who has recuperated from cancer, is currently undergoing training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Singh played a crucial role in helping India win the World Cup in 2011.
