Maria Sharapova lifts French Open

Paris, June 9 (IBNS): Russian Tennis star Maria Sharapova defeated Italy's Sara Errani in the final match of French Open women's singles event to lift the trophy here on Saturday.

Maria defeated her opponent by 6-3, 6-2 margin in the clash.

Saturday's encounter was nearly one sided with Maria completely dominating over her Italian opponent.

Maria took just 89 minutes to clinch her first French Open title.
