Cuttack, May 19 (IBNS): Riding on a hat-trick by Gokul Oram, hosts Orissa won (4-0) in their first match of their Group C Quarterfinal League against Chattisgarh in the 66 Santosh Trophy at the Barabati Stadium.
Gokul scored his first goal in the 44 minute, much to the jubilation of the home crowd. Orissa led 1-0 at the interval.
In the second half, there was no stopping the hosts as they pumped in three more. Antu Murmli doubled the score in the 66 minute and then Oram completed his hat-trick, scoring in the 81 and the 91 minute respectively.
In an earlier Group C match, Services routed Haryana (4-0). Horin put Services in the lead as early as the 8 minute only for Subrat Sarkar to double the score in the 67 minute.
Services scored their third goal in the 74 minute when Farad bulged the net. Farad scored his second goal in the 85 minute to complete the rout.
In the Group Quarterfinal League match at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhuwaneshwar, Mizoram held Railways (2-2).
For Railways, Gurpreet Singh and Rizu scored in the 15 and the 45 minute respectively, while Mizoram scored through Laltanpuia 45 minute and Lalrinpuia in the 50 minute.
In the first Group D match, Tamil Nadu rode on Karthik’s goal to scrape past Delhi (1-0). Karthik scored the match-winner in the 76 minute.
