Mumbai, July 20 (IBNS): Indian Premier League (IPL) players Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell of South Africa, who were among 100 odd people rounded up from a rave party in Mumbai on May 20, have tested positive for drugs, reports said on Friday.
The duo had claimed that they had not taken drugs and were innocent victims.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier refused to comment on take any action on the rave party scandal involving IPL cricketers till results of investigations conducted by concerned authorities were known.
Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell of Pune Warriors were detained by Mumbai police after they busted a rave party.
"I don't do drugs. Myself and Rahul were there at the hotel in a party at the request of a friend. We went there and at 7'o'clock police were all over in the party. We were just at the wrong place at the wrong time," Parnell had said after their detention.
