Panaji, June 29 (IBNS): A government-appointed two-members committee probing financial misappropriation and irregularities in the Goa Cricket Association (GCA), Friday submitted its report to the government.
Former GCA Secretary and member of the committee Chetan Dessai confirmed the news but refused to divulge details.
“We have probed the matter thoroughly and submitted a report to the government today evening. I cannot discuss further,” Desai said.
Sources however said that the report has indicted former GCA Chief Dayanand Narvekar on charges of corruption.
Narvekar, also a former Vice President of Board of Cricket Control of India has been accused of indulging in financial irregularities.
The committee began an inquiry from May 7 under strict police cover as the committee members had to extensively raid the GCA office at Porvorim. The members also investigated into the construction of the new GCA building in South Goa.
If the report is accepted by the government, sources said, a criminal case will be booked against him and he could even face arrest.
