India Blooms News Service

Panaji, May 18 (IBNS) The Thailand tourism is eyeing Gujaratis as it is set to open a visa processing centre in association with Cox & Kings Global Services, at Ahmedabad next month.

Thailand has recorded the highest 60 percent visitors from Gujarat followed by Maharashtra, which ranks second.

“Gujaratis are the largest number of visitors to Thailand as compared to other states in India,” Kamol Wan Sriposil, Consul from Royal Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai, told reporters at a press conference Friay morning.

The Ahmadabad facility will be launched on June 1 whereas the centre in Pune will open on May 25.

With the increasing response from other Indian states as well, Sriposil said they expect Indian arrivals to touch 10 lakh mark as against the current 9.1 lakh this year.

“Nearly 80 percent of the total visitors to Thailand are tourists whereas 20 percent come for business. We have a facility of visa on arrival which boosts tourism in our country,” she stated.

The CKGS launched its Goa visa processing centre today. The centres are being set up for obtaining visas by following proper documentations without any hassles.
