Kolkata, May 26 (IBNS): A travel magazine, for aspiring globe trekkers and vacation hunters, titled “Touriosity – Travel Mag” was launched in Kolkata on Friday.
Oxford Bookstore in association with Afield Touriosity Private Limited hosted the launch of the book which the publishers said was first Kolkata-based English travel magazine.
Present on the occasion were Debabrata Biswas, Chief Conservator Forest Department, West Bengal and Dr. Soumen Chakraborty, Joint Director, Himadri Chemicals.
The magazine aims to provide an insight on various travel destinations ranging from lesser known to the much known popular ones across the world.
It also encompasses select articles on history, heritage and culture providing the readers a guide to choose and plan an ideal travel itinerary.
Speaking about the magazine, Chakraborty said: “We travelled a lot but never wrote anything, I hope this magazine will give the future travelers a scope to share their adventurous stories.”
“Travelling has got a different angle as well and it can be depicted in an interesting way that may fascinate the readers,” he added.
Rupanjana De, who edited the magazine said: “Through this magazine we want to open the doors of fascinating and reckoning world to the readers and travelers.”
“We would specifically focus in the places of West Bengal but we are also trying to venture at various places of other locations where people generally don’t go,” she added.
