Bhopal, Apr 11 (IBNS): Madhya Pradesh government announced on Tuesday that use of plastic carry bags will be banned in the state from May 1 this year, according to media reports.

The meeting deciding on the plastic carry bag ban was chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

According to the government, the ban is being mainly implemented as cows often feed on these plastic bags and fall ill, sometimes they even die.

Besides, the plastic garbage is also harmful for the environment, MP government said.

The detailed rules and regulations are being drawn up by the relevant agencies.
