Earthquake strikes east coast of Japan

Tokyo, Oct 11 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6.2 on Richter scale struck off the east coast of Japan’s main island of Honshu, reports said on Saturday.

According t to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicentre of the tremor was placed 110 miles northeast of Hachinohe.

There was no danger of a tsunami, reports said.

The earthquake was felt around 0236 GMT, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
