New Delhi, Jun 22 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who urged people to continue yoga for the rest of their lives, said on Wednesday that it was a beautiful sight, referring to the large number of participation from across the globe.

"Through yesterday, the 1st rays of the Sun were welcomed by practicing Yogis in every part of the world. It was a beautiful sight. #IDY2016," PM Modi tweeted.

In another tweet, he thanked the foreign nationals on behalf of all the Indian citizens for practicing yoga.

"The 1.25 billion people of India thank their sisters & brothers across the world for their active participation during #IDY2016. #YogaDay," Modi said.
