Cancer genes still alive in body after death: Study
In a new study “Tracing the dynamics of gene transcripts after organismal death” published in Open Biology on Jan. 25, 2017 researchers compared death to slow process aligned to the slow shutdown of a computer instead of the quick switching off a light bulb, GlobalNews reports said.
This fact suggested that certain genes in the body remain alive even after someone is declared clinically dead.
Researchers from the University of Washington wanted to learn more about this phenomenon.
They experimented with mice and zebrafish and found that hundreds of gene expressions with different functions were active for up to two days after the animals were dead.
