Kolkata, July 23 (IBNS): SAS, business analytics software maker, has tied up with Calcutta Business School (CBS) to launch SAS Certificate Programme in Business Analytics for Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) students.
Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata on Tuesday, Noshin Kagalwalla, Country Manager, SAS  India, said, “Today, data is being generated from every transaction and interaction. Big data is growing bigger. Organizations across Indian industries have understood the importance of leveraging analytics for deriving insights and foresights from their data. This transformation in mindset is fuelling the demand for analytics professionals. SAS works with the best institutes and universities across geographies to equip students with skills in analytics."

Kagalwalla said: "I am confident that our collaboration with CBS will further create professionals with skills in analytics and bridge the talent gap.”

The Business Analytics Programme at CBS, is the only SAS programme in the eastern region that would be conducted directly by the SAS professionals.

SAS is the leader in business analytics software and services.

CBS has approved a two year fully residential PGDM course at a value of Rs.50,000.

Online exams would be conducted for which the examinees will have to pay USD 250.

When asked on the importance of the course, Goutam Sengupta, Director, Calcutta Business School, said, “The MBA students are gradually losing their value in market. If the PGDM students are equipped with this program then we believe their market value will increase.”

Speaking on expansion plans, Kagalwalla said, “Our immediate focus in east India is to make this relationship successful, but later we look forward to spread our footprints all over the nation.”
