ATC India launches integrated HiWEL Learning Stations, Solar and Sanitation CSR projects in WB

Kolkata, Oct 4 (IBNS): ATC India, an independent tower company in the country, recently launched its integrated HiWEL (Hole-in-the –Wall Education ltd.) learning stations, solar and sanitation CSR project in Mahisamari Netromohan FP School in South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal.

The project was inaugurated by Pravas Mandal, Sachib Village Board alongwith the ATC India’s leadership team.

Speaking during the event, Mandal, Sachib Village Board, South 24 Parganas said, “ATC has come up with a very innovative way to serve the society through CSR. In our village, it is for the first time any company has set up Solar/Hiwel stations and sanitation project.”

Another two Integrated HiWEL learning stations, solar and sanitation CSR projects were inaugurated in South 24 Paraganas District (West Bengal) in Kishore Nagar Sabitri Bidyatan, Pathar Pratima and Dhabalat Abaitanik Prathamik Bidyalay in Sagar.

The projects were inaugurated by Shyama Biswas- the Panchayat Samiti Sabha Pati  and Rekha Das - Upo Pradhan respectively. At the same time, the company has launched a Hiwel Learning and Sanitation project in Sanka Primary School in Hooghly district, which was inaugurated by the Panchayat Pradhan, Madhumita Samanta. Moreover, as part of its CSR project, ATC India has installed fans, bore wells and water pumps to provide the students much relief from the blistering heat of the summers and instant access to clean drinking water. 

ATC India’s philanthropy program aims at integrating education with technology. It has partnered with HiWEL & NIIT foundation to provide to provide access to computer-based learning to underprivileged children through e-learning kiosks at community/government run schools and e-learning kiosks at ATC tower sites. In the state of West Bengal, this year it has successfully installed 4HiWEL Learning Stations, 3 Solar and 4 Sanitation projects under their CSR programme. These projects aim at enhancing functional computer literacy among school children aged between 6 and 14 years and supports ‘Swach Bharat’ abhiyan.
