Kolkata Puja pandal installs Water ATM

India Blooms News Service | | 21 Oct 2015, 06:13 pm
Kolkata, Oct 21 (IBNS): West Bengal Public Health Engineering Department has installed city's first drinking Water ATM or water vending machine at Ekdalia Evergreen's puja pandal in Kolkata.

The Water ATM will work like a bank's ATM. People can get cold or normal water from a vending machine, after depositing money through a particular slot.

Inaugurating the Water ATM here, West Bengal Panchayat and Public Health Engineering Department minister Subrata Mukherjee said, "WB government will install 200 more drinking water ATMs across Kolkata and its suburbs. People would get one pure litre for just two rupees."

"We have plans to launch more water ATMs in the entire state later," he added.

City's first water ATM will be maintained by Ekdalia Evergreen club here.
