Duke, Duchess visit Taj Mahal

Agra, Apr 16 (IBNS) As the couple nearly reached the end of their tour to India and Bhutan, Duke Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton visited the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra on Saturday.

The couple, who reached Agra on Saturday, posed for camera in front of the monument.

Prince William and Kate reached Agra after completing their tour to the Himalayan nation of Bhutan.

"The Duke and Duchess at the Taj Mahal #RoyalVisitIndia," Kensington Palace tweeted.

Welcoming the couple, the official Twitter page of the Taj Mahal read: " Glad for the convergence of histories, I welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William & Kate, into my premises. #RoyalTourIndia."

Prince William and Kate on Sunday arrived in India where they met top political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  cricketers and Bollywood stars.

They left India for a two-day tour to Bhutan.

They are visiting India before wrapping up their tour.

Since independence, other members of the Royal family- Queen Elizabeth II,  Prince Phillip,  Prince Charles and  Lady Diana-  had earlier visited the Taj Mahal.
