Kerala Bishop to donate one of his kidneys to a Hindu boy
Thiruvananthapuram, May 29 (IBNS): In a secular act, a Bishop in Kerala's Kottayam district will be donating one of his kidneys to an ailing Hindu boy, media reports said.
This comes after Pope Francis’s urged to make 2016 a year of giving.
After learning about Sooraj's deplorable condition from the Kidney Federation of India, Bishop of Pala diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church Jacob Muricken decided to donate one of his kidneys.
The 30-year-old Sooraj was undergoing dialysis treatment two years ago.
According to reports, both his kidneys have failed and his health condition is crucial.
He had registered with the federation a year ago and was waiting for a donor to help him.
