Police arrests man with scrapped notes worth Rs 50 lakh in Guwahati

Guwahati, Nov 17 (IBNS): Police on Thursday evening arrested a person with huge quantity of scrapped notes worth of Rs 50 lakh in Guwahati.

During the regular checking, police recovered the huge quantity of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes from a Xylo vehicle (AS-01-AN-3875) at Bhangagarh area in the city.
 
Following the Centre’s decision of demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, police recovered huge quantity of scraping notes from various areas in Assam in past week.

On November 16, local people of Anil Nagar in Guwahati found several old notes which flashed out at Bharalu river.

Earlier, police had recovered huge quantity of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in torn condition at Ghuramara area in the city.
