Tamil Nadu: CM Palanisamy orders closing down of 500 state-run liquor shops

Chennai, Feb 20 (IBNS): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palanisamy announced on Monday that another 500 state-run liquor shops would be wound up with immediate effect.media reported.

Monday was the first day the new chief minister commenced on his official duties,

The CM announced that working women will get fifty per cent subsidy to buy two-wheeler.

He also said that maternity assistance is being increased to Rs 18,000 from Rs 12,000.

A couple of tweets from AIADMK official said --

"Monthly assistance to unemployed youths doubled. #TNCM"

"5000 Houses at a cost of 1lakh 70 thousand per house to be constructed for fishermen. #TNCM"

Edappadi Palanisamy was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
