Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 26 (IBNS): A man from Kerala, who was suspected to have joined militant group ISIS in Afghanistan, was killed during a drone attack, media reports said.

The deceased man is identified as Hafeezuiddin.

The family of Hafesudheen Theke Koleth, a Kerala resident believed to have left the country to live in Islamic State-controlled territory in Afghanistan’s war-torn Nangarhar district, has received information that he has been killed, police and intelligence sources have told The Indian Express.

According to reports, the information on his death was learnt from a message sent to them via Telegram instant message.

It was reportedly sent to the family by another Kerala jihadist living in Nangarhar on Sunday morning.
