Modi to spend Diwali with flood-affected people in Kashmir

India Blooms News Service | | 21 Oct 2014, 03:43 pm
New Delhi, Oct 21 (IBNS): In a solidarity approach, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that he will spend this Diwali in Jammu & Kashmir with flood affected people.

In his twitter message, Modi wrote, “Will be in Srinagar on Diwali, 23rd October & will spend the day with our sisters & brothers affected by the unfortunate floods.”

It is noteworthy to mention here that Kashmir was hit by unprecedented floods last month in which widespread damage was caused.

Centre announced 1000 crore relief for rehabilitation.

Ahead of Diwali, Modi greeted the nation on the occasion of Dhanteras on Tuesday.

He wrote, “Greetings on Dhanteras. May Lord Dhanvantari bless us with prosperity, joy and good health.”
