Jammu, Nov 22(IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday claimed that the ultimate aim of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is to change the destiny of Kashmiri people.

He said development is the mantra of BJP and if it comes to power in Jammu and Kashmir then the state will have an overall development and a better future.

Addressing an election rally at Kishtwar in Jammu division, Modi said: "Our aim is to change their (Kashmiri people) destiny. That is why, I am here to request you to not associate politics with communalism."

Modi said that if those people affected by floods want to rebuild their lives then they should not 'let the money go into the wrong hands'.

Modi said that if people of Jammu and Kashmir want to see overall development then they should elect the BJP government in the state.

He assured people he will fulfill the dream which former Indian PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had seen for Jammu and Kashmir.

"Vajpayee ji had a dream about Kashmir and I just want to turn those dreams into reality," Modi said.

"For the first time after independence, this is the wind is flowing in the direction of change. Our mantra is 'sabka saath, sabka vikaas," he said.

"People wonder why Modi is so attached to Kashmir. I am attached to Kashmir. It is my wish to complete the work started by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. I would like to narrate my experience here. When I was appointed as the Gujarat CM, some people came to me and said that people who come here speak on the same issue related to Pakistan. They said that they are tired of listening the same issue and want to talk about development," he said.

Modi said that in Jammu and Kashmir there  is a deal between the two families here.

"One family rules and robs the state for five years and then after it becomes unpopular, it gives the power to rob the state to the other family. Will only two families rule Kashmir? Can you not run Kashmir?" he asked the gathering.

"Our film industry used to shoot in Kashmir for every film. Now, they have gone to other countries. I want to bring them back and give employment to youths here. I want to tell the people here. You have been regretting for the last 50 years. Decide once and you will not regret again," he said.

Meanwhile A multi-tier security cover has been put in place in Kishtwar town ahead of public rally. Security men have been deployed at all the entry and exit points of the venue.

After landing at Jammu airport, Modi took off in a helicopter for Kishtwar town to address the rally.
